Chanters

Devotees to the Great Peace who raise the spirits of their fighting allies with Taoist chants and incantations.

There are many ways to contribute to the Great Peace; these chanters are not warriors – though they carry basic maces should the need arise – but are vital to give encouragement to their brothers and sisters.

Their yellow robes are draped with many charms, and they sing Taoist chants to embolden the hearts of those nearby. Without the burden of armour, they can move quickly to inspire wavering units struck by doubts and remind them for what they fight.

Unit Abilities

  • Caltrops
    Simple nut husks, once trodden upon, cause extreme pain and slow movement.
  • Smoke Screen
    Thick plumes of smoke obscure line of sight, making units seem temporarily invisible.
  • Miasma
    The dense and tough undergrowth that plagues the jungles of the South is a hindrance to all those who try to penetrate into the heartlands of the Nanman.
  • Loose
    The unit spreads apart, making it more difficult for arrows to hit them.
  • Sacred Chants
    An ancient chant that serves as a reminder that Heaven is with the virtuous.

    Can hide in forests.
