Peasant Archers

Cheap to raise, but low in morale, these peasants are armed with only a simple bow and the will to fight for the promise of the Yellow Sky.

A call to arms, particularly against tyranny, is often answered by more than just the land’s heroes and warriors. The downtrodden need only to hear support for their plight to be galvanised into action, and these peasants have fashioned simple bows to join the Yellow Turban cause.

They enter battle in flimsy tattered tunics and lack the skill, courage and eyes of seasoned archers, but if enough arrows are launched, no matter how poorly aimed, the deluge is bound to find some targets.

Unit Abilities

  • Smoke Screen
    Thick plumes of smoke obscure line of sight, making units seem temporarily invisible.
  • Miasma
    The dense and tough undergrowth that plagues the jungles of the South is a hindrance to all those who try to penetrate into the heartlands of the Nanman.
  • Loose
    The unit spreads apart, making it more difficult for arrows to hit them.

    Can hide in forests.
  • RAIDER
    Idle soldiers will burn down nearby buildings.

Strengths & Weaknesses

  • Role: rear line
    These troops are best placed at the rear of an army, where they can cause damage from a position of relative safety.
  • Expendable
    An inexpensive unit of easily replaced individuals that can be sacrificed for the greater cause.
  • Cannot adopt advanced formations
    These soldiers are not disciplined enough to adopt advanced formations.
