Venerable Wu

Shamans who can take many blows before they fall, striking fear into the hearts of foes who believe they possess supernatural powers.

The Venerable Wu follow the ancient shamanistic tradition, entering battle adorned in charms, amulets and medicine. These trinkets are rumoured to grant them greater resistance to death and injury and adds to their supernatural reputation.

Many have heard whispers of the Wu’s powers to call down curses upon their enemies, as well as contact or even raise the dead, and to hear their muttered incantations is to know dread. It is this fear that makes them so valuable on the field to break the morale of superstitious enemies.

Unit Abilities

  • Caltrops
    Simple nut husks, once trodden upon, cause extreme pain and slow movement.
  • Smoke Screen
    Thick plumes of smoke obscure line of sight, making units seem temporarily invisible.
  • Miasma
    The dense and tough undergrowth that plagues the jungles of the South is a hindrance to all those who try to penetrate into the heartlands of the Nanman.
  • Loose
    The unit spreads apart, making it more difficult for arrows to hit them.

    Reduces nearby enemy morale. Does not stack.
  • HIDE IN FOREST
    Can hide in forests.
  • IMMUNE TO SCARE
    Immune to scare effects.

Strengths & Weaknesses

  • Role: flanking
    Fast, agile and devastating - flanking units can turn the tide of battle with a well-timed charge or by routing enemy missile units.
  • Poisoned weapons
    The weapons of this unit are coated in poison, inflicting lingering armour-ignoring damage on foes that are hit.
  • Causes scare
    This unit is terrifying to its foes and reduces the morale of nearby enemies.
