1	200	Melee Infantry / Spear Infantry / (bel_elite_spearmen) Cauaros (Belgae Elite Spearmen) These champions are heavy, disciplined spearmen. They use finely made leather and chainmail armour, as well as a long spear. They cannot be compared with elite hoplites because of their real indvidual fighting skills that largely outmatch any opponents.

2	300	Melee Infantry / Spear Infantry / (bel_heavy_spearmen_early) Cingetoi (Early) (Early Belgae Heavy Speamen) Equipped with bronze discs and helmets, these are the early line spearmen. They march at a slow pace in silence, and then charge with a tremendous energy at close range, spearhead first. The spears are three meters long and designed so that the second rank can support the first.

3	300	Melee Infantry / Spear Infantry / (bel_heavy_spearmen_late) Cingetoi (Late) (Late Belgae Heavy Spearmen) Cingetoi use Montefortino-style helmets and heavy leather armour. They are great defensive troops, but are also useful for slow-paced, phalanx-type battle, and their tradition is still maintained on the other side on the Alps, as testified by the Helvetii.

4	300	Melee Infantry / Spear Infantry / (bel_levy_spearmen) Bagaudoi (Belgae Levy Spearmen) The Bagaudas are not warriors. They are peasants levied for war and trained for a time with warriors. They are poorely equipped for the most part, relying on their wooden shields for protection, and using a spear for defence and close fighting.

5	300	Melee Infantry / Spear Infantry / (bel_medium_spearmen) Acubagaudoi (Belgae Medium Spearmen) These spearmen have a long Gaiso" spear for close fighting and also a complement of light "Verutum" spears for long range, so that they form a versatile medium infantry force in Belgic armies."

6	300	Melee Infantry / Spear Infantry / (bel_peasants) Atecti (Belgae Peasants) With a wicker shield and a spear, these peasants are useful and cheap to muster. They have few truly military tasks. They act as a rearguard, mostly to protect the baggage train on campaign, and to support the more experienced Bagaudas in a line. But these men are not experienced and have no training, so they are more useful as a local defence militia.

7	200	Melee Infantry / Spear Infantry / (bel_solduroi_guard_early) Solduroi (Early) (Early Belgae Professional Warriors) The Solduroi are lesser nobles, clad in only the best equipment. They are superbly skilled fighters, and protect their master to the death. Solduroi (meaning marching around") are front-line speamen, marching in a phalanx when in close order."
