These urbanites are the core of the Nabataean military machine. Armed with sturdy spears and leather or wicker shields, these men are far more capable of holding the line of battle than their lighter counterparts in tribal levies.

These men are personally loyal to the man who supports their military upkeep - the king. They serve as temple guardsmen, perform a host of ceremonial duties and act as escorts to the monarch. On the battlefield, they are considered to be an elite retinue because they are superb melee warriors, fiercely loyal to their king and trained for the most difficult assaults and confrontations.
