Organised Feasts

The king's feast was a social event of great significance for barbarian people. It gave warriors an opportunity to confirm their loyalty to their leader. At the same time, during a feast the leader could reward his men as he saw fit and in this way be praised as generous ruler. It goes without saying that such celebrations involved an ample meal doused with copious amounts of alcohol – most likely plundered from civilised lands, as barbarians were not known for their brewing skills at this time.
