Scythian Traditions

The Alani tribes probably belonged to a steppe people known as the Scythians. Different from barbarian savages, they carried ancient nomadic culture based on the traditions of the royal Scythian tribes from the cold northern regions. The Scythians were more interested in art and preserving their ways than the barbarians of Europe - both men and women wore long-sleeved robes with ornaments, their weapons and scabbards were adorned with gold and gems, and their nobles wore intricate personal jewellery.
