As druidic doctrine was passed along verbally we may never have known the extent of their knowledge and understanding of astronomy if it had not been for Caesar, who in his chronicles wrote that “They also hold long discussions about the heavenly bodies and their movements, the size of the universe and of the earth, the physical constitutions of the world and the powers and properties of the gods”.
