Hunter's Bazaar

The hunter takes his prey, the law of the nature he obeys.

Some of Nubia’s most important trade goods, such as animal skins and ivory, were a by-product of its strong hunting culture. The exotic skins and ivory produced were a staple, together with the trade of gold and iron, of the Kushite economy. Figures hunting with bows and arrows begin to appear in Nubian rock art as early as the Neolithic period and hunting enabled subsistence for many Nubians throughout much of their history. Nubian hunters and warriors excelled as archers, their weapon even becoming a symbol of the kingdom - for thousands of years, the Egyptians even used the term 'Ta-Seti' meaning 'Land of the Bow' when referring to Nubia in their writings.
