Dwarfs know the secret of creating, not only Gromril, but puresteel also.

The secrets of puresteel, using techniques such as vertical filtering and experimental 'cyclone' furnaces, creating steel that is harder than anything the Empire can create in its own forges. This metal, known simply as 'puresteel' by the master smiths, is then used for creating the costliest and highest quality weapons in the Dwarfen arsenal, apart from Gromril of course.
