All of the Quendi are in love with dancing and singing. It is said, that in the Eldar in Valinor preserved songs they used to sing beneath the stars at the shores of Cuiviénen and to which they used to dance. The Teleri was the clan of the Quendi from which the greatest singers came in the old days – save only Maglor, Fëanor son, who was obviously a Noldor. The Sindar and more so the Nandor who are of telerin origin are no exemption to this. Even though their brothers, the Noldor, love singing and dancing as well and do preserve some of their greatest history in epic poems and tales, the Sindar and Nandor do this on a regular basis. One will seldom find a book of history amongst the Nandor and Sindar, but always will find songs of wisdom and nearly every account of history, which are performed with or without dance. The Gwaith-i-Glinadir'a'mereth is the place where the greatest singers and best performers of the Sindar and Nandor of the Realm of Thranduil come together for exchange, pleasure and celebrations. Wherever a Gwaith-i-Glinadir'a'mereth (Dance Guild) exists, it is the center of culture not only on days of joy and celebration but in day-to-day Life.
The Dance Guild favors buildings for art, nature, music and entertainment. Only available in forest regions. |
