The Noldor are the wise, the lore-masters, the crafters. They’re in love with nearly all skills of craft of the dominion of the Vala Aulë, but language and history are probably their most beloved subjects of lore. At all times, even during the wars against Morgoth in the First Age, their lore-masters invented new words. It was Rúmil of Tirion who first invented letters with which words could be written down. The Tengwar they were called by the Noldor. Fëanor enhanced , and for large parts invented anew, the system which was created by Rúmil. The Tengwar fëanorinwa are still popular all over Middle-Earth and used these days. Accompanied with the invention of script, the Noldor began to keep track of the events of their time. They even recorded whatsoever account of history the Valar were willing to reveal to them. The Gwaith-i-Lúmenquentalë (History Guild) is the center of history-lore kept by the Noldor. Here their lore-masters discuss about events of the past and teach the willing tales of days long forgotten in the minds of Men. The amount of knowledge stored in the Gwaith-i-Lúmenquentalë is invaluable and so are the benefits of it.
The History Guild favors buildings for art, music and town halls. Only available in forest regions. |
