Chosen Uar Warriors

Only the bravest are chosen to be the champions of their tribes.

The Uars, also known as the ‘White Huns,’ are thought to be part of the Hephthalites, a nomadic people. Their origins are still debated by historians, some arguing that they were of Iranian decent, while others suggesting that they were Turkic. Unlike the ‘Black Huns’ of the north, the Uars had fair complexions and their aristocracy bedecked themselves in fine clothes and jewellery. Their main stronghold, Tokharistan, was situated on the northern slopes of the Hindu Kush Mountains. By the 5th century AD the Uars had succeeded in expanding their territory as far south as India, although that situation was to be short lived. During the early 6th century AD, they were driven out by the Indian kings Yasodharman and Narasimhagupta.
